Kaolinovo The Municipality is in the northeastern part of the Loudogorie Mountain. the area is mainly flat to undulating, plateau-like. The altitude above sea level varies from 100 to 500 m. The are vast spaces occupied by flat watersheds. The climate in the Municipality is mild due to the influence of the Black Sea; it may be defined as moderate continental. The average annual temperature is 23 - 25°C. Typical for the Municipality Kaolinovo are the strong winds of velocity 3-4 m/sec, as well as autumn fogs, white frost and frequent hail storms.

Kaspichan the Municipality comprises Pliska National Historical and Architectural Reserve and a part of Madara National Historical and Architectural Reserve. In the western foot of the Madara Plateau, 1.5 km east of the village of Madara Madara National Historical and Architectural Reserve is located. The Madara Horseman is included on the UNESCO List of World Heritage and is connected with the huge rock complex built by Khan Omourtag on the terrace under the rocks. In the foot of the rocks there is a big cave called the Nymphs' Cave. Pliska is one of the most imposing monuments of medieval European civil engineering in towns. It was in this area that in 886 AD Kniaz Boris I received the creators of the Slavonic alphabet, the brothers Cyril and Methodius.

Hitrino This Municipality borders on the municipalities of Venets, Kaolinovo, Novi Pazar and Shoumen. Its territory is connected by the main road connecting the district center to Silistra city, and by the railway line Varna - Rouse.
